90 Day New Testament Challenge!
Posted on January 31, 2010
Are you ready to make the Bible a part of your daily life? We’re here, ready to help you out! Using the good stuff the folks at YouVersion.com have made available online, we have put together a Bible reading program to bring us through the ENTIRE New Testament in just 90 days!
While we have directed the 90 Day New Testament Challenge at the men of MVBC, we’d love to find out that everyone is participating in some way. To that end, we’ve published the reading plan here in Word format. If you’re interested in taking part of the challenge in an official manner, please talk with John Stickley or Tom Brager and let them know that you’d like to sign up.
For you guys who are taking part, please be sure to visit MVBC’s men’s group at YouVersion.com. We’ve got an “event” detailing the challenge there, including instructions on the usage of YouVersion.com to aid you in keeping up with your daily readings.
Scripture can change your life in amazing ways, so please… consider participating in this in some way!

Christmas Eve Service Cancelled
Posted on December 24, 2009
Due to developing adverse weather conditions in the St. Joseph area, and resultant unsafe driving conditions, MVBC will be cancelling our Christmas Eve service tonight. Normal services are expected to be held on Sunday.
Please be safe and enjoy Christmas with your family!
Be sure to make time this evening to reflect upon the hope that came to the world with the birth of our Savior, and to make this an integral part of your celebration of Christmas this year!
We hope that all of you have a Merry Christmas!

Worship Night this Sunday!
Posted on October 28, 2009
Psalm 150
1Praise the LORD.
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heavens.2Praise him for his acts of power;
praise him for his surpassing greatness.3Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
praise him with the harp and lyre,4praise him with tambourine and dancing,
praise him with the strings and flute,5praise him with the clash of cymbals,
praise him with resounding cymbals.6Let everything that has breath praise the LORD.
Praise the LORD.
This Sunday evening, November 1st, Missouri Valley Baptist Church will be hosting a night of worship. Seth Mason will be leading us in a night solely devoted to offering praises to our Lord through song!
We’d love to have a packed house, so be sure to invite your friends and family! It should be a GREAT time, and we fully expect God to move in the hearts and minds of everyone who can make it!
Worship begins at 6:30. We hope to see you there!

30 Hour Famine!
Posted on May 30, 2009
Our youth participated in the “30 Hour Famine” this weekend, an annual event sponsored by World Vision intended to help fight world hunger. Through 30 hours of fasting, worship of God, and service to our community, the event not only helps to raise awareness of hunger concerns around the world, but also helps our students to learn to think about more than just themselves and further mesh their vision of the world with that of Christ’s.
Our local television station covered the event as well, so you can visit their site for the article.
Thanks to all who helped to make this event such a meaningful experience for our students!

Don’t Miss This Week’s Podcast…
Posted on April 5, 2009
We don’t usually do this, but Pastor Rodney shared a very powerful message today about the events of the day we refer to as “Good Friday”… about what Jesus, our Savior, went through to provide salvation for us… about what He went through to atone for our sin.
If you only listen to one message on our podcast site, be sure it’s this one.
Check out it out here.

MVBC On The Web…
Posted on March 8, 2009
In case you weren’t already aware, Missouri Valley Baptist Church has an extended web presence above and beyond what you’ll find here on our main site.
First, there’s our podcast, available here, as an extension to our main site, or on iTunes. If you can’t be with us on Sunday morning for some reason and want to know what you’ve missed, or if you just want to hear a certain sermon again, you’ve now got that opportunity.
This next resource is more for networking and interacting with those who attend MVBC: our facebook group. This is a great place to get to know some of us! (Note that you’ll need a facebook account to access this.)
Lastly, a resource for following MVBC happenings in near real-time, our twitter account. Here, we’ll be sharing brief updates of MVBC happenings as they occur… podcast updates, website updates, new newsletters, or even tidbits from MVBC services and events. If you’ve got a twitter account of your own, you can follow our feed and even have updates sent to your cell phone!
As you can tell, we love the way technology can be used to help people stay connected to one another. We truly hope and pray that these resources will be of benefit to you.
God bless!
