The Beatitudes, Part 1

Rodney began a new series today, drawing from Matthew 5:1-12 to focus on the introductory words of Jesus from His Sermon on the Mount… the Beatitudes. Jesus’ words here run contrary to what we’re taught in modern society… “Look out for number one”… “Being rich and powerful is the path to happiness”… “If you don’t speak up for yourself, who will?”
The Beatitudes beg the question, “are we really willing to seek God’s approval more than anything else in our lives?” Do we really want HIS blessing more than anything offered by this world?
