The Sermon on the Mount: Salt and Light

Rodney continued in Matthew chapter 5 this morning, focusing on verses 13-16, “Salt and Light”. He emphasized strongly that our lives MUST reflect that which we profess to believe. If not, we’re likely not just to fail in leading people to know Jesus, but to actually push them further away from Him.

The Beatitudes: Blessed are Those Who are Persecuted…

This morning, Rodney wrapped up his series in the Beatitudes, focusing on Matthew 5:10, “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
Rodney shares that persecution is the result of a life lived radically for Christ. We must live carefully so as not to invite it upon ourselves through foolish living, but when brought upon us through godly living, we should be encouraged! Though unpleasant, the rewards of eternity are worth it.

The Beatitudes: Blessed are the Peacemakers

This morning, Rodney continued his series in the Beatitudes, sharing a message from Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.” He challenged us to look at our lives and consider how the Beatitudes, made manifest in our lives, naturally lead to us living our lives as peacemakers, resolving the conflicts that inevitably invade our lives and our relationships.
